ABC News article

Class,

We've talked about your age group and the technological advantages you possess. While this article was published just over a year ago, it is an example of the new technological advances in our society. I would like you to respond and let me know your thoughts on the article and how it relates to our topic of Supply and Demand.

Do you feel Amie Street, from the producer's point of view, is doing the correct thing by pricing the music by demand or popularity?

How do you feel, as a consumer, by the pricing strategy of Amie Street? Is it fair?

What is so impressive about the founders of the company?

Is this company still in business? Is so, what do you feel makes them successful?

Tomorrow in class we will review Surplus, Shortage, and Equilibrium; Supply and Demand Schedules and move to look at Demand Shifts.

C.A.N. I.!

I think that as a producer Amie Street is doing the correct thing. They are a business and since the demand is high they should raise the prices to see how much the consumers are willing to pay and get to an equilibrium price.

As a consumer I feel like the pricing stategy of Amie Street is fair because its not too much any I understand that they are trying to make a profit.

Whats so impressive about the company is that it started with young college students who thought about making a website that they would like.

Good Class..... Good Class

Amie Street from the producer's point of view is doing the right thing by raising the prices based on demand or popularity. They could be making twice as much as they usually do when they raise prices on a popular song.

As a consumer, I believe that their pricing strategy is fair. Usually everything else I buy is like that, then why should I think it is unfair that Amie Street is doing that?

The impressive thing about Amie Street is that it gives a chance to new artist to get their outbreak in the world.

I think that Amie Street is doing the right thing with her pricing strategy, she does what every other company does raises the prices when they are in high demand which is never a bad thing.

As a consumer I think the pricing is decent I spend the money to buy the songs like this all the time, and I know at times they can be high so its never unfair.

I like that the company is for younger generations and that it works with unknown artists because that is what I usually listen to.

From the producers point of view i would say yes because they are making money by increasing the price with the artists popularity but they are making the consumer happy at the same time which balances the pricing.

From a consumers point of view i would say it is fair because the consumers are getting a chance to hear music for free until the artist gets popular then the price increases but only gradually. This gives the company a fair profit.

It is impressive because they are young college students, under 30, who are competing with itunes, a huge world wide company. Also when they made their company they made themselves the target market so they can relate to their customers.

I think its correct from the producers point of view because the customers are getting a reasonable advantge to buy music and also the producers are making a balance profit.

As a customer I think its fair because you can get some music for free and buy others at a reasonable prices.

It's impressive because they're young students trying to relate to others who like music, also. I like that they made a site for themselves and for other people to use.

The thing that impress me the most was the founder creativity and drive to sucessfuly run a profitable business.

The company is still successful, becuase they give their costumers what they want at a reasonable price.

I belive that from the producer's point of view that they are doing the right thing by pricing the music with the rise in demand.

I wouldnt agree with the pricing but I would understand why they are pricing so high. Its fair in the way that it is their business and they can chose to raise and lower prices with supply and demand.

The impresive part of the company is that the founders are college students who allow artist to have a chance in getting discovered.

The company is still in business because there are still unknown artist out there trying to get discovered.

Yes i think that Amie Street is correct and doing the positive thing.

I beleieve Amie Street's pricing strategy is balanced and i dont think she would be taking advantage of anyone

In addition, alot of younger adults are exploreing new ideas and placeing these ideas to create new companys, and this is a very positive thing.

As long as the prices for this service is fair there is no reason to even question this buisness women.

I think Amie Street is doing the correct thing for their customers and their company itself, but it's not benefiting the artists. I say that because their not charging anything for the music they are creating until it gets popular.

It is benefiting the customers becuase if they go on Amie Street once the song is created they get it for free. Also, becuase the maximum cost to download is 98 cents which is still cheaper than Itunes.

Overall, Amie Street is only benefiting their company and their customers which matters most in the business world today. I thought it was a clever idea that the 20 yr. olds created.
